IoT-Based Real-Time Monitoring and Management System for Household Energy Consumption

This paper presents the design, implementation and testing of a novel IoT monitoring and management system for household energy consumption, which leverages unique integration features with the Arduino Cloud platform. The system can monitor and display the active electrical power and energy consumed by three household appliances in real-time, for each appliance and the total value of the active energy. The values of active energy can be reset. A user-friendly interface is also presented in both browser and mobile versions. The power supply of the household appliances can be controlled from the interface. Also, the system is based on the Arduino Opta WiFi micro-PLC, and a three-phase Finder smart meter. The system was tested by using an air conditioning unit for which the electrical power and energy were monitored
