Considerations on the design of horn antenna using ANSYS HFSS Software
This paper presents a method for design of some the horn antenna parameters using ANSYS HFSS software. The antenna optimization relies on geometrical considerations by using a rectangular air box, which has the role of radiating electromagnetic energy into free space. In this air box, the walls through which the electromagnetic energy is radiated were arranged at a distance of lambda/4 from the radiating object. The optimization was created in the ANSYS HFSS software. The S11 and VSWR parameters were optimized, and the secondary lobe levels were reduced. The peculiarities of the directivity characteristic such as the secondary lobe novel and the measurement of the opening angle at the level of 0.707 in the E plane and in the H plane were highlighted.
