Integrated system for interconnecting medical equipment and secure data transmission to a remote monitoring platform
This paper presents the design and implementation of a wireless system for interconnecting medical equipment and securely transmitting data to an open-source real-time monitoring platform. The project seeks to eliminate the reliance on wired physical connections by adopting wireless communication methods. The proposed solution focuses on the acquisition, redirection, processing, and transfer of Health Level 7 – Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (HL7 FHIR) files. To ensure an efficient and responsive information system that supports both local and remote access, the approach emphasizes the creation of a unified hardware–software architecture with full interoperability. The system integrates an ESP32-WROOM-32 development board with the Home Assistant platform to demonstrate seamless data acquisition and visualization.
