SYNTHETIC CONSUMER PROFILE GENERATION USING THE MATLAB COMPUTING ENVIRONMENT

This paper presents a Matlab framework to synthesize hourly load profiles (8,760 h) from monthly/annual totals. It fuses top-down allocation using standardized normalized curves (ENTSO-E/BDEW/ANRE/Elia) with bottom-up adjustments for seasonality, day type, temperature, and operating schedules; atypical days are excluded and shoulder months handled by interpolation. The method covers multiple consumer archetypes and includes MAE/RMSE validation. Outputs support PV/storage sizing, self-consumption estimation, and network studies via a reproducible workflow.
