Simulating the Operation of the Induction Machines Using a New Matlab-Simulink Simulation Block with an Extended Range of Input and Output Quantities

The paper presents several numerical simulations performed for two induction machines (with squirrel-cage rotor and with wound rotor) using a new Matlab-Simulink simulation block. This new simulation block, based on the orthogonal mathematical model of the machine, offers more facilities, having more input and output quantities compared to the predefined simulation blocks of the Matlab-Simulink program. Thus, variable parameters can be used as input quantities, obtaining superior results from the numerical simulations that are closer to reality. The electrical and mechanical parameters of induction machines were determined experimentally using high-performance equipment.
